Pumpkin Bread
Ingredients:
- 2-2/3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups canned pumpkin
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 3-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 cup dates
Directions:
- Cream sugar and shortening.
- Add eggs and pumpkin.
- Alternately add flour, spices and milk.
- Pour into 2- 9" x 5" x 3" pans, greased and floured.
- Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
