Spice Cake

Favorite Recipes of the Good Cooks of the First Presbyterian Church, Saginaw Michigan.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup sugar
• 3/4 cup lard
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup sour milk
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 2-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup raisins, put through food chopper
• 1/2 cup nut meats
• 2-1/2 cups flour sifted 3 times

Directions:

1. Cream together sugar, lard, and eggs. Add milk. Add dry ingredients to form dough. 
2. Bake in oven until done.
