Sushi Rice


  • 1 cup short grain sushi rice
  • 1 cup Water 
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar (Unseasoned) 
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar 
  • 1/2 tsp Salt


  1. Wash rice in strainer with cold water until water runs clear. Place in medium pot, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and leave covered for 10-15 minutes. Remove lid and fluff with spoon. 
  2. Whisk rice vinegar, sugar, and salt together, set aside. 
  3. Transfer rice to large container and fluff again. Pour vinegar mixture over rice while folding it in. Fan with sushi rice while mixing to cool. Cover with damp towel.
